Beaver Falls Tigers Baseball 2004
WPIAL PLAYOFF PARTICIPANT
9-7 Overall Record; 6-4 Section 6-AA Record
The Tiger baseball team entered the season with the knowledge that they had not appeared in the playoffs since 1997. The team worked hard following a slow start (1-3 record in section 6-AA) to win five of their last six Section games and qualified for the playoffs for the first time in seven years. Many players made this feat possible. Both Rocky Washington and Andy Hiskey eclipsed .500 batting averages and qualified as WPIAL All-stars. Mike Ginand pitched expertly for the Tigers with a 4-2 record, solidifying the Tigers defensively. The Tigers fought through an adverse beginning to accomplish the unexpected.
