Beaver Falls in WPIAL Game
Cleckley, Ramirez take Tigers to Title game for first time since 1975.

Starting pitcher Marlo Cleckley and the Beaver Falls Tigers took all the Center Trojans had to offer on Wednesday and responded with a thrilling 7-6 victory. The Trojans seemed to have Cleckley on the ropes in the third inning when they opened a 3-0 lead behind Logan Urtz's two run homer, but Cleckley responded by shutting them down in the fourth and holding onto the lead until the sixth inning.  In the meantime, the Tigers put up six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to claim a 6-3 lead.  Tyler Schuster doubled in the fourth and Tony Omogrosso had a base hit which was followed by walks of Austin Cleckley and Admire Carter.  At this time, with the bases loaded, Marlo Cleckley reserved a spot for the Tigers at Consol Energy Park, site of the WPIAL Championship.  He lifted a fastball over the wall in right center field for a game changing grand slam.

The Trojans responded with two runs in the fifth inning to close the gap at 6-5 and tied the score in the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly by Logan Urtz, but Schuster slammed the door on the Trojan offense, pitching one and two thirds innings of no-hit relief to pick up the win.  While Cleckley made the reservation for Consol Energy, it was Aaron Ramirez who punched the ticket with a walk-off single with two outs and two strikes in the bottom of the seventh inning with the bases loaded.

Evan Chiappetta lead the decisive inning with a single to left and David Ginand bunted him over to second.  Schuster was intentionally walked and Tony Omogrosso had yet another clutch single up the middle to load the sacks. It was at this time that Ramirez delivered his hit to the right side to set the Tigers up with a District 7 championship match with Burrell.  The Tigers also qualified for the PIAA tournament for the first time since 1985.
